Bernard began her career in orchestra management鈥in 1996, having won a prestigious fellowship鈥痺ith the  with鈥痳esidencies at the New York Philharmonic and鈥Minnesota鈥疧谤肠丑别蝉迟谤补.鈥 

Before joining the orchestra world, Bernard practiced corporate and tax law inCanada and is a member of the Qu茅bec鈥疊ar Association. A Qu茅bec native of Belgian鈥痙escent, she studied communications, media,鈥痑nd literature at Jean-de-Br茅beuf鈥College and law鈥痑t the University of Montr茅al. She holds a鈥尘补蝉迟别谤鈥檚鈥痉别驳谤别别&苍产蝉辫;in arts management from鈥疌oncordia鈥疷niversity鈥(Montreal).鈥 

Since Bernard began her tenure, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra鈥痗ompleted a five-year strategic plan and鈥痚xperienced significant increases in attendance and ticket revenue, and in earned and鈥痗ontributed revenue. Under her leadership, the orchestra is鈥痚mbracing a period of great momentum with the stability of new orchestra and鈥痵tagehand contracts, the expansion of鈥痠mportant regional partnerships, groundbreaking artistic initiatives and the pursuit of new鈥痬edia鈥痮pportunities鈥痶o鈥痚nhance the鈥痮rchestra鈥檚鈥recording and broadcast catalog.鈥 

At the , Bernard led the organization鈥痶hrough an important artistic and financial鈥痳evival as it prepared to celebrate its 200thanniversary. The society became an essential educational鈥痯rovider and partner to youth and music鈥痚诲耻肠补迟辞谤蝉&苍产蝉辫;in Massachusetts, and a national leader in鈥痚补谤濒测&苍产蝉辫;music. She doubled operational budgets and endowments and鈥痮versaw the most ambitious capital&苍产蝉辫;肠补尘辫补颈驳苍鈥in鈥痶丑别鈥痮谤驳补苍颈锄补迟颈辞苍鈥檚&苍产蝉辫;history.鈥 

 Bernard is among the distinguished women serving on the Widener Global Leaders Program advisory board at Wichita State University鈥檚 W. Frank Barton School of Business and member of the . She serves on the boards of United鈥疻ay of Greater St. Louis, the  and Grand Center Inc. She serves on the  and on the Artist&苍产蝉辫;笔谤别蝉别苍迟补迟颈辞苍鈥疭辞肠颈别迟测&苍产蝉辫;Advisory Committee. She is a member of鈥痶he Symphony, Opera and Ballet Employers鈥疎lectronic Media Association
