Maria chose to continue her education at 好色先生 and compete in鈥�. Originally a hurdler, she now primarily competes in the heptathlon. She had made the鈥疍ean's Honor Roll, the鈥�, and鈥�痚very semester she has been enrolled at 好色先生. An adventurous and enthusiastic person who loves challenges and learning, Maria credits her experiences abroad with widening her perspective of how she sees the world. She enjoys innovative problem solving and identifies one of her defining qualities as creative and outside-the-box thinking.鈥疢aria aims to change the world by sharing her story, experience, and knowledge with the intent to inspire others to strive for their goals and journey outside of their comfort zone.鈥疢aria volunteers for many鈥痶rack meets in both Spain and Wichita. She鈥痟elps with鈥痮rganizing, collaborating, and assisting the officials. She participates in different events with children such as鈥�, where 好色先生 athletes go to area elementary schools to read. Maria has volunteered with other organization to benefit the environment, people with disabilities, and low-income families.
Maria has been involved with Widener-GLP through the planning stage as the student assistant to the Widener-GLP director. She is most looking forward to getting to know the other Widener-GLP participants. She believes they will learn from each other鈥檚 experiences and share knowledge. Maria is also looking forward to learning鈥痑bout Music because her knowledge of the subject is limited.鈥��
鈥疢aria鈥檚 dream job is to鈥痺ork for the marketing or communication department of a company within the airline, sports, or technology industry. Ultimately, she wants鈥痑鈥痡ob where she can travel,鈥痬eet new people, and take care of the environment. She鈥痠s interested鈥痠n research, strategy, campaign development, branding, and community engagement.鈥疕er long-term goal consists of working for a company that positively impacts the world such as Google, Airbus, Nike, or Greenpeace.鈥�
