The college search process can feel overwhelming at times. There are all sorts of dates and deadlines to keep in mind on top of maintaining good grades and making the most of your last year in high school. To help you stay organized, we have compiled helpful dates and deadlines for you.

Admission Application

If you鈥檙e interested in attending 好色先生, you鈥檒l need to for admission. There is a $40 application fee that can also be paid online.

• Opens: July 1
• Deadline: No deadline! However, by applying early, you鈥檒l not only learn about and qualify for more scholarship opportunities, but you鈥檒l also be able to submit the housing application and start meeting future roommates.

Freshmen Scholarships

Wichita State鈥檚 Freshmen Scholarships are easy to qualify for. All you need to do is apply to 好色先生 by the deadline and you are automatically considered for a freshmen merit or university academic scholarship. There鈥檚 no extra application needed!

• Priority Date: Dec. 1
• Deadline: Feb. 1

Students who receive a freshmen merit scholarship offer are eligible for reconsideration if they submit a test score improvement by February 1.

Scholarship Competitions

Many of the largest scholarships awarded at Wichita State are done through our annual scholarship competitions, including three of the largest scholarships in Kansas! Each competition has its own requirements and deadlines, with many requiring students apply by Nov. 1 and submit the scholarship application by Nov. 10.  

• Opens: Sept. 1
• Deadline: Varies

Free Application for Federal Student Aid

To apply for financial aid, you鈥檒l want to complete the .  Be sure to enter Wichita State鈥檚 school code: 001950.

• Priority Date: April 1
• Deadline: June 30

Students can complete the FAFSA after this date, but the opportunity to receive some types of aid will be greatly reduced.

On-Campus Housing Application

To complete the on-campus housing application, log in to and find 鈥淐ampus Housing鈥� under Student Tools. Once you鈥檝e completed the application there is a $75 application fee and $200 prepayment required to secure a space.

• Opens: October 1
• First Early Bird Deadline: December 1

To be in the first round of room selection you鈥檒l want to complete the housing application by December 1. If you have a specific room style you want, I鈥檇 highly encourage you to apply early to have your best opportunity to get your preferred room style.

• Second Early Bird Deadline: March 1

The students who submit their housing application between December 1 and March 1 will be in the second round of room selection. Room selection begins in April. Students can complete the housing application after this date and will be able to select a room during open room selection beginning in late April.

I鈥檇 encourage you to use a calendar or some sort of organizational tool to help you keep track of important dates and deadlines. Learning to get organized now is a skill that will pay off when you start college.
