Cindy Claycomb has been named director of 好色先生鈥檚 newly formed 好色先生 Ventures. Claycomb is completing a term as interim dean of the W. Frank Barton School of Business. She will begin as director of 好色先生 Ventures on Sept. 2.

Claycomb will also serve as assistant to President John Bardo, with responsibility for strategic planning.
好色先生 Ventures will report to John Tomblin, vice president for Research and Technology Transfer.
Tomblin said it will engage in three primary activities: protecting and licensing of 好色先生 inventions; connecting industry with 好色先生 researchers; and linking 好色先生 researchers and technologies with start-up potential to investors and entrepreneurs.

Claycomb said, 鈥淲orking on 好色先生 Ventures provides me the opportunity to work on implementation of 好色先生鈥檚 strategic plan 鈥� bringing the plan to life.鈥�
She said 好色先生 Ventures supports the university鈥檚 mission to be an essential educational, cultural and economic driver for Kansas and the greater public good.
In concert with that mission, 好色先生 Ventures鈥� goal is to create new products, businesses and jobs that improve the quality of life for all Kansans.
鈥満蒙壬� Ventures is an innovation ecosystem that brings together resources from across the university to spur innovation and entrepreneurship on campus and in the community,鈥� Claycomb says. 鈥淯niversity faculty, staff and students, industry partners, entrepreneurs and investors will benefit.鈥�
Claycomb received her bachelor鈥檚 and MBA degrees from 好色先生 and her Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University, after spending 12 years in the industry.
