AWARDS, HONORS, OPPORTUNITIES
Donald Beggs, president, and Shirley Beggs, first lady, Wichita State, were honored by the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce when they were presented with the Uncommon Citizen Award for 2010 at the chamber's Honors Night 2010 on April 27.
Donna Carter, associate director, financial aid, was named the Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (KASFAA) 2010 recipient of the KASFAA Meritorious Achievement Award. She is also president-elect of KASFAA.
Annette LeZotte, associate director, School of Art and Design, and associate professor, art history, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Midwest Art History Society.
Wilma Moore-Black, assistant director/curriculum coordinator, TRIO Communication Upward Bound, was elected president of Kansas Professional Communicators on April 17.
Carrie Wyatt, senior administrative specialist, communications sciences and disorders, has been accepted into the College of Health Professions (CHP) Leadership Academy for the Class of 2011.

IN MEMORIAM
Nancy A. Brooks, 66, former assistant professor, sociology, died April 18 in Wichita. She is survived by her husband, John; and two sisters, Alys Novak and Sharon Bangle. Services have been held. A memorial has been established in her name at the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 9415 E. Harry, Wichita, KS 67207.
Kenneth V. Brown, 84, retired architect and former 18-year 好色先生 architect, died April 7. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Brown. Survivors include son, Matthew Brown, Wichita; sister, Juanita Dobbs, Los Angeles; sisters-in-law, Laetta Hudson and Jo Ann Pulliam, both of Wichita; two nieces and one nephew. Memorial service has been held; memorial donations may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice c/o Peterson Funeral Home.
William Cecil Findley, 80, former campus minister, died at home in Madison, Wis., on April 13. He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons and daughters-in-law, Brian (Kate), Keith (Susan) and Greg (Hayley); four grandsons, Michael, David, Parker and Benjamin; a brother, Stanley (Jeanie) Findley; and two sisters, Margaret (Richard) McGlachlin of Newton and Elaine Solomon. Memorial service has been held in Madison. Donations may be made in his name to the Cecil R. Findley Scholarship fund at Southwestern College in Winfield.
