Worked at 好色先生 for a short period from 1965-1966, and after that went on to be the chair of English Literature and Philology at the University of Athens, in Greece, so that鈥檚 pretty cool.

The English Department was heavily involved in a Kansas Writing Initiative done in partnership with the University of California, which aimed to train 25 composition teachers in new and novel methods of composition teaching, and then to set them loose amongst Kansas Schools. It鈥檚 suggested that this was largely useful as a publicity tool for the university at large, rather than anything specifically useful to the department. There were some major issues with one Camille McGuire, a student teacher in the English Department. She felt misused, and mistreated by the department, and sent Alhberg a lot of mail about how rough her situation was.

The English Department got into some trouble(?) with the city around 1964 when the department sponsored the showing of some foreign films, including one L鈥橝dventura, which seemed to cause quite the stir. That said, Lindquist received several letters appreciating the English Department for sponsoring foreign film and enriching the culture of Wichita itself. Otherwise, there was some sort of drama with the formation of a upper elite committee of the English Department self-regulating who was allowed to work in the department. No other major issues or notable events, I鈥檓 afraid.
